Regretful Loss to the Bakery Lofts

A stellar star resident, great neighbor, and a wonderful friend passed away.

Matt S. was one of the coolest guys on the planet. He was that organized, calm and collected, interesting, technical, crafty, and creative type that cared genuinely about others and listened carefully.

The beauty of the Bakery Loft’s courtyard stems deeply from the red japanese maples, hibiscus, chrysanthemums, salvia, and several other beautiful looking and smelling colorful flowers and cascading creeping time that Matt planted, watered, and maintained.

He always participated in the different activities and fun events we have here and was always one of the best at what ever we tried: he made a japanese mask jack-o-lantern at the pumpkin carving contest and it included a mop for hair and l.e.d. lights for spooky eyes. Recently, he made a delectable ginger carrot Killer Rabbit designed cake for our Special Occasions cake-off last month.

Matt was the kind of guy who finished things on time, including his cake and would walk around and ask others if they needed help and what he could do to help with things. He was a self-sufficient giver. He would find out what you needed and go get it right away.

Matt also had the best collection of Martial Arts, Anime, and Horror DVDs and he was so knowledgeable of both gory and beautiful things.

Many people remember his great fudge, I’m thinking about all the types of Christmas cookies he would bake, but he also made bread, gourmet dishes, and had such a good taste in things.

He doesn’t feel gone because his spirit is so strong in this community. Matt is truly missed and loved and will always be remembered.
